HIV prevention among MSM

Objectives:
Objective 1: Increase the access of MSM (inclusive male CSW) of min. 10 localities to condoms and adequate information about HIV prevention.
Objective 2: Increase the access of MSM to psiho-medical-social services adapted to MSM’s needs, at national level
Description:
The activities proposed will follow three main directions:
1. Outreach harm reduction interventions targeting MSM in at least 10 localities with visible LGBT community. Direct outreach activities (free condoms, referrals, IEC sessions) in public places frequented by MSM will be complemented by virtual outreach (reaching MSM community via internet), a network of local volunteers at national level (re-delivering condoms and info materials within their group of friends) and campaigns promoting safer sex within MSM community and increasing social acceptation of MSM and HIV+ people.
2. Increase the accessibility of existing medical and social services, adapted to MSM needs. ACCEPT will collect information on those services that respond to MSM needs, at national level, and will promote this services through the peer educators, web site and helpline.
3. Increased involvement of MSM peer educators in HIV/AIDS prevention

Objectives:
Objective 1: Bring to public agenda standards of best practice in working with MSM (for medical and psychological services associated with HIV&STI prevention and treatment).
Objective 2: Increase the access of MSM to psycho-medical-social services adapted to MSM’s needs, at national level.
Description:
1. ACCEPT will join the efforts of the other NGOs active in addressing policy makers building on its extensive expertise in lobby and advocacy activities. Health Ministry will be specifically targeted to increase project impact and to facilitate the integration of these standards in national health policies.
2. Training sessions to reduce MSM stigmatization, addressed to professionals of medical and psychological fields, related to HIV prevention. The training courses will focus on sensitizing and increase awareness on LGBT issues, and will support the necessity of best practice standards.
